February Issue: Le Voyant

What Hides In The Light

Rain falls in gentle rhythms behind my heart.
What should be sought is hardly out in the open;
Twisted, curved and crinkled,
it hides in the waters of my soul.

The heart it pounds, I leave behind
the doubt and the restraint
what lies there hidden shall be named
in colour, form and sound.

Towards the light! Soul-windows break
What they birth is bright and strange
Flowers in flames, winds of change
The things no poet hates.

Faster now, the rain falls
and seeps inside my heart.
It turns all red, then blue
then fills the pages, with the new
to hell with you, damned past!
