May Issue: Reckoning Day

Doomsday is a Thursday

doomsday is a Thursday,
it’s been scheduled in our agenda
and I've been living up to it

because we live in destruction, absent-mindedly
the contrast has faded between disaster and harmony

I am complicit, less than some
time is ticking, judgement is near
our punishment will be severe

I am complicit, more than some
by owning my place in a western world
but this is my pledge to mother nature
to dedicate my future to her
in hopes of finding a cure
