SUBMISSIONS OPEN: MAY 11TH – MAY 25TH
“What will you do in the day of reckoning, when disaster comes from afar? To whom will you run for help? Where will you leave your riches?” – Isaiah 10:3.
Imagine watching the final scene of a film in a deafeningly quiet cinema. Imagine the day the sun explodes, like a million shooting stars wished upon with only thoughts of absolute destruction. Imagine the day the water finally catches up to us, leaving behind a concrete Atlantis, fish swimming through your local supermarket.
Imagine a day at the end of all time, where every human experience is reduced to a statistic – a measure of the good and evil of their earthly lives. Imagine standing in front of the grand scales of justice, watching as your moral code is weighed out like a game, like a seesaw in a kid’s playground.
In the judgement of God (or whatever you want to call it), every human is called to account for their actions committed in life. At the final call at the dimly lit bar we call ‘life’, which drink will you order? What taste will you choose to remain in the back of your throat as you watch the end of everything you’ve ever known?
The Day of Reckoning is a promise that if you have lived a humble life – one dedicated to spreading love and joy like pollen from which all is birthed, then your own flower is sure to thrive. If you spread all that is good, good will always make its way back to you, right?
